Assessment Policy

Dublin Centre of Education (DCE) supports student learning through continuous assessment and external examinations.

Internal assessment

Students are assessed throughout their course by their teachers to monitor progress and ensure appropriate level placement.

External examinations

All non-EEA visa students are required to sit an approved external examination at the end of their course, in accordance with immigration requirements.

Failure to sit the required examination may affect the student’s immigration status and may result in the school being unable to issue a certificate of completion or exit documentation.

Exam registration

Students will be registered for an appropriate external examination by the school, based on their level and course requirements.

The school will provide guidance and support to students in preparation for their examination.

Exam fees

Examination fees may not be included in course fees unless explicitly stated in the student’s contract.

Students are responsible for ensuring that all required examination fees are paid within the specified timeframe.

Attendance & eligibility

Students must meet attendance and academic requirements in order to be eligible to sit their examination.

Exam conditions

Students must attend their scheduled examination on time and bring all required materials.

Failure to attend, late arrival, or failure to meet examination requirements may result in loss of the examination opportunity and associated fees.

Results & records

Examination results are issued by the relevant awarding body.

Student results may be shared with relevant authorities, where required, and will be retained by the school in accordance with data protection regulations.

Appeals

Students who wish to appeal their examination results must follow the procedures set by the relevant awarding body.

The school may assist students in submitting an appeal where appropriate.
