If you are an international student and want to study in Ireland, you need the right visa for your course.

1. Who needs a visa:

  • Students from countries outside the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA) must apply for a student visa before arriving in Ireland.
  • Students from EU/EEA countries and Switzerland do not need a visa, but must register with immigration if they stay for more than 3 months.

2. Documents provided by the school:

  • Course acceptance letter (offer letter)
  • Proof of payment for the course
  • Proof of accommodation, if necessary

3. Your responsibility:

  •  Complete all forms correctly
  • Submit all documents requested by the Immigration Service within the deadline
  • Pay all visa fees
  • Visa approval depends solely on the immigration authorities


4. What the school does for you:

  • Explains step by step how the process works
  • Provides the necessary documents for the application
  • Answers questions about the process


5. What the school does not do:

  • We do not apply for your visa
  • We do not guarantee visa approval


💡 Tip: Start applying for your Visa in advance to avoid delays before the course starts.

On the day of your visa appointment, bring:

  • Passport
  • Letter from the DCE
  • Proof of insurance
  • Bank statement showing €6665
  • Proof of address in Dublin
  • €300 (IRP fee)

 

After registration, you will receive an IRP Card valid for 8 months.

Students from outside the EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland must meet immigration requirements when entering Ireland.

Non-EEA students enrolled in full-time programmes listed on the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP) may be allowed to work:

  • up to 20 hours per week during term time
  • up to 40 hours per week during holiday periods

Students must register with immigration and obtain an Irish Residence Permit (IRP).

To work in Ireland, you will also need a Personal Public Service Number (PPSN).

For official guidance:

Students must have sufficient funds to support themselves while studying in Ireland.

For long-term stays, students may be required to show access to approximately €6,665.

You should also ensure you have:

  • access to funds via a debit or credit card
  • a budget for accommodation, food, and transport

  • organise your finances
  • plan your travel to Dublin
